A downloadable game for Linux

Fantasary is a prototype textual virtual world written on top of Spritely Goblins. It saw it's initial version for the Spring Lisp Game Jam 2023, it now has returned for the Spring Lisp Game Jam 2024.  It's more or less a multi-user chat with interactive objects!

Along with Spritely Goblins, it uses Guile Hoot as a user interface to speak to a guile backend and libp2p to communicate with the game's server!

A project of the Spritely Institute. Written by Jessica TallonDavid Thompson  and Christine Lemmer-Webber.

Changes from last year's entry:

- New scheme based webUI

- Libp2p support to talk to server

- Support for graphical descriptions of objects

- Support for "look subscriptions" to get an updating view of objects which support this action

The project is licensed under Apache v2 and the chess pieces are licensed under CC BY-SA 3.0 DEED by jurgenwesterhof (adapted from work of Cburnett).

Install instructions

Download the bundle for a binary-only version that should (hopefully) work out of the box , unpack and then run bin/fantasary. It should provide a URL which you can open in a  latest version of firefox or chromium (older versions may not work as it relies on recent WASM extensions).
